Rebate options

Medicare

The Medicare Better Access initiative aims to provide individuals with better access to mental health professionals and teams-based mental health care. Under this initiative individuals can access Medicare benefits for psychological services.

Individuals can receive a refund of $141.85 for a session lasting 51 minutes or more and can received up to 10 treatment sessions under the Medicare Better Access initiative. These include both face-to-face sessions and Telehealth sessions.

​

To be eligible to received psychological services under Medicare, a person must be referred by their GP and in some instances by another medical specialist. Speak to your GP about your eligibility for a GP Mental Health Care Plan to claim these medicare benefits and the best person to make the referral.

Private Health Insurance 

Dependent upon your insurance provider you may be eligible for a rebate on your session. Please speak with your individual private health care provider.
